PIONEER TOWN, CALIFORNIA
(YUCCA VALLEY AREA)
Activity: Sight Seeing
My buddies and I were out for a couple days of Off-Roading adventure in the High Desert. I have been Off-Roading for a couple years now and I have come to the realization that iconic, rustic and fun places featuring great food and barbecue is something that is highly prized by folks of this lifestyle. So Pappy and Harriet’s Pioneer Town Palace in Pioneer Town was something that our expedition was centered around.

Pioneer Town was established back in the mid 1940’s as a Western movie set as well as a place for cast members to have a weekend get away from Hollywood and LA. More than 50 movies and TV shows have been filmed at this location featuring Movie Stars to the tune of Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, Paul Newman and Gene Autry to name a few.

Pappy and Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace is the good eats place that we kept thinking about as lunch time approached. So we pulled our rigs off the rocky trail and into the already full parking lot. This place is full of Western flare and pumps out good food and good times. It is a Honky Tonk and presents music events with a big stage outback. It was packed with a sizable wait, but that is no problem because that gave us a chance to walk the same streets that many a Hollywood gunfighter walked.

and never give up.”– Roy Rogers,

Thanks for taking the stroll with us down the dusty dirt street of Pioneer Town conjuring up a bit of the Old West as we took a lunch break from our 2 day Off-Roading excursion in the neighboring mountains and canyons.
